Guwahati, April 2, 2026: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday sharply criticized Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, labeling him the “most corrupt CM” in the country. He alleged that Mr. Sarma, in collaboration with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, is operating what he described as a “land ATM” in the state.

Speaking at a public event, Mr. Gandhi claimed that the current administration is exploiting land resources for political and financial gains, raising concerns about transparency and governance. He urged immediate investigations and accountability to protect the interests of local citizens.
