Chandigarh, 4th, May, 2024 – The General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee, former Union Minister, former State President of Haryana Congress, in-charge of Uttarakhand, and the candidate from the Sirsa parliamentary constituency for Congress (India Alliance),Kumari Selja said
that the Apprenticeship Rights Act will be introduced by repealing the Act of 1961 to provide permanent jobs to the youth. The central government will fill about 30 million approved vacant positions at various levels. From 2025, 50 percent of the jobs in the central government will be reserved for women, and the principle of equal pay for equal work will also be implemented to prevent wage discrimination. On Saturday, Kumari Selja visited several villages in the Kalanwali Assembly constituency, including Ahmadpur, Mirpur, Jhopda, and Nejadela Kalan. Addressing a public meeting in Ahmadpur, She said that the Bjp government for not providing employment to the youth despite promises, and for frequent leaks of examination papers.
She has said that the Congress is serious about the future of the youth and that a Congress government would provide fast track courts to handle cases of leaked examination papers and compensate the victims. The Apprenticeship Rights Act, guaranteeing a one-year training in a company in the private and public sectors to every diploma holder or college graduate under 25 years of age, will be introduced. This law will guarantee a stipend of 100,000 annually. The training will enhance employment skills and provide full-time job opportunities to millions. The Congress will fully establish a Fund of Funds scheme for startups and allocate 5000 crore rupees, representing 50 percent of the funds, uniformly across all districts for young people under 40 years to start their businesses. The government will eliminate the application fee for examinations and government positions.

Kumari Selja said that the Bjp government pays lip service to the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” initiative but does not implement it, and women are humiliated on various pretexts. Congress has resolved to start the Mahalakshmi Scheme, which provides 100,000 annually unconditionally to a poor woman in each family. The most needy families will be identified as beneficiaries. This amount will be sent to the bank account of an elderly woman in the family, or to the oldest member of the family if there is no elderly woman. Additionally, they will allow the implementation of one-third reservation for women in state legislatures, which will be elected in the 2025 assembly elections, and this reservation in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will be permitted after 2029.

The Women will be reserved 50% of government jobs from 2025 by the central government. The principle of equal work for equal pay will be implemented to prevent gender discrimination in wages. She said that Congress has always stood with the farmers and raised their voices for their interests, but the Bjp government has become the biggest enemy of farmers today. Hundreds of farmers were martyred in the farmers’ agitation, but the government remained silent. When the Congress government comes, the MSP law will be implemented, and the interests of the farmers will be protected. They said that today is a fight for justice, a fight to save the constitution and democracy, a fight for the ideology, and to save this country, Congress’s hand must be strengthened. Appealing to vote in favor of Congress, Selja said that today the country is looking towards Congress.
