Rajya Sabha MP Subhash Barala meets Union MoS for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu, discusses expansion of rail facilities in Tohana and Jakhal

MP urges new train services, route extensions, station upgrades, and improved passenger amenities; Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu assures positive action

Tohana/Fatehabad: Rajya Sabha MP Subhash Barala met Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu on Wednesday to discuss the enhancement of railway facilities in the Tohana and Jakhal regions. During the meeting, MP Subhash Barala presented several key suggestions and demands aimed at improving rail services for the public in these areas.

He emphasized the need for new train operations, extension of existing routes, modernization of railway stations, additional stoppages for key trains, and improved frequency and punctuality of train services. He noted that Tohana and Jakhal are vital areas located on the Haryana-Punjab border and have long required enhanced rail connectivity.

Describing the Tohana and Jakhal railway stations as lifelines of the region, MP said these stations play a crucial role not only in daily commuting but also in supporting trade activities, transportation of agricultural produce, and student travel for education purposes. Enhancing these facilities, he said, would directly benefit local passengers, students, traders, and farmers.

He also raised specific issues, including the demand for additional train stoppages, upgrading passenger amenities, platform expansion, construction of foot overbridges, and strengthening of the digital information system at both stations. He also drew attention to the potential for launching new train services to meet growing passenger needs.

Union MoS for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu attentively noted all points raised by MP and responded positively, assuring full cooperation and support. He stated that the central government is committed to providing modern and accessible railway services to the public and that demands from the region would be considered on a priority basis.

MP Subhash Barala expressed gratitude for the minister’s positive response and assured continued efforts to improve rail connectivity in the region. He reiterated his commitment to raising necessary demands with the central government to ensure better rail services for Tohana, Jakhal, and surrounding areas.
