Noida initiates grand celebration of Dev-Deepawali for the first time

Noida, Nov 16: Noida Authority, going by the wave of Sanatan, has taken and initiative this year to celebrate Dev Deepawali with the participation of schools, RWAs, associations of societies and NGOs. The event, celebrated on Saturday, witnessed an overwhelming response. Teachers and students from different schools participated in large numbers in the celebration.

Dr. M. Lokesh, CEO Noida Authority, speaking on the occasion appreciated the arrangements made by the officials of the local administration at a short notice. He also praised the participation of schools and NGOs in large numbers. He said that until last year we used to see photographs and videos of celebration of Dev Deepawali at Banaras or Ayodhya. Inspired by the large participation and the sanctity of the occasion, the Noida administration also thought of organizing the same in Noida. The decision was taken at the last moment, but kudos to the administration and the participants that made the occasion a big event. He informed that the students have lightened 21,000 diyas which itself is a big achievement at the first such event.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Pankaj Singh, while delivering his address as the chief guest of the occasion appreciated the idea of celebrating Dev-Deepawali at Noida on such a large scale. He appreciated not only the administration and the CEO but also the participants including people from NGOs, School teachers and students in a large number. He said that the celebration of Dev-Deepawali used to be a regular event at Banaras that he also attended many times, but starting this at Noida is really a welcome step.
In the program there were Rangoli competition, Bhajan Sandhya by Piyusha and Kailash Anuj and other cultural programs. The main event was organised at Shilp Hat, Sector 33A, Noida. Officials from different departments including ACEO Sanjay Khatri, ACEO Satish Pal, OSD Noida Mahendra Prasad and other diginataries were present on the occasion.
