New Delhi July 23 2024 : Shobhan Chaudhuri, General Manager of Northern Railways, conducted a comprehensive performance review meeting with department heads and Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) at Baroda House. The meeting focused on bolstering safety measures across the railway network to ensure the utmost safety for passengers and personnel.
During the session, Sh. Chaudhuri recognized and awarded 5 employees for their exceptional dedication to maintaining high safety standards and safeguarding railway property. The awards were presented as part of ongoing efforts to reinforce safety protocols and enhance operational efficiency.

Addressing critical concerns, Sh. Chaudhuri stressed the importance of upgrading track maintenance standards, securing level crossings, and fortifying boundary walls along high-speed sections. He highlighted challenges posed by heavy monsoon rains, urging divisions to promptly address issues such as water logging and silt accumulation that affect train operations.
Additionally, the General Manager instructed officials to expedite approvals for necessary tree cutting from the Forest Department to mitigate risks to tracks and overhead wires. Emphasis was also placed on prioritizing visual inspections and lubrication of rail joints and welds to maintain infrastructure integrity.
Detailed discussions ensued regarding the maintenance status of tracks, joint welds, and signaling systems, with a focus on enhancing efficiency and reliability. Sh. Chaudhuri also reviewed progress on pivotal construction projects involving the expansion and establishment of new railway lines, directing officials to accelerate project timelines.
