External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has commenced his two-day official visit to Mauritius today. In a social media post, Dr. Jaishankar expressed his anticipation for productive engagements aimed at advancing the special relationship between India and Mauritius.
During his visit, Dr. Jaishankar is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth and hold bilateral discussions with other senior ministers of Mauritius. He will also engage with prominent Mauritian leaders. The External Affairs Ministry highlighted that this visit provides an opportunity to comprehensively review various aspects of the bilateral relationship.
The Ministry emphasized that the visit underscores the significance of the India-Mauritius relationship and aligns with India’s ‘Neighbourhood First Policy’, Vision SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region), and commitment to the Global South. It further reaffirms the mutual commitment of both countries to strengthen their multi-dimensional bilateral ties and deepen close people-to-people connections.
