Teachings of Lord Valmiki’s Ramayana Inspire Social Harmony and Antyodaya:  Ravinder Indraj

On Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti, Delhi’s Minister for SC/ST/OBC Welfare offered prayers at temples and participated in Shobha Yatras across the Capital

New Delhi : 7 October 2025- On the auspicious occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti, Delhi’s Minister for Social Welfare and SC/ST/OBC Welfare, Ravinder Indraj Singh, offered prayers at various Lord Valmiki Temples across Delhi and participated in grand Shobha Yatras organized in different parts of the city.

Ravinder Indraj said that following the sacred celebrations of Kanwar Yatra, Navratri, and Ramleela, the grand celebrations of Lord Valmiki Jayanti across Delhi reflect the government’s commitment to cultural nationalism and respect for faith. He added that the Delhi Government is preparing to celebrate Diwali this year with equal grandeur.

Extending warm greetings to all citizens on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti, Ravinder Indraj urged everyone to imbibe the divine teachings of Lord Valmiki Ji in their lives and work collectively to build an educated, harmonious, and just society that strengthens national unity.

The Minister visited the National Valmiki Temple located at Mandir Marg, where he performed rituals along with  Lal Singh Arya, National President of BJP’s Scheduled Caste Morcha, and various representatives from social organizations and the Valmiki community. He later joined BJP’s National General Secretary and SC Morcha In-charge Tarun Chugh and other party leaders at the BJP headquarters to pay floral tributes to Lord Valmiki Ji. He also participated in several Shobha Yatras organized across the Capital.

Minister stated that the sacred Ramayana, composed by Lord Valmiki Ji, is not merely a religious epic but a profound treatise on family values, social harmony, and moral discipline. The Ramayana is revered not only in India but also in Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Tibet, and Mauritius, among many other nations — a testament to the global acceptance and influence of Indian culture.

He added that the Ramayana’s depiction of Lord Rama accepting Mata Shabari’s humble offerings, his friendship with Kevat, the participation of forest dwellers in his army, and the contribution of the small squirrel in building the Ram Setu beautifully symbolize social inclusiveness and the spirit of Antyodaya — taking everyone along in the journey of progress.

Ravinder Indraj emphasized that the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047 under the leadership of Prime Minister  Narendra Modi  and the goal of a Viksit Delhi envisioned by  Chief Minister Rekha Gupta  can only be realized through the principles of Antyodaya and national unity.

He further stated that Prime Minister Modi’s historic contribution in constructing the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and CM Rekha Gupta’s efforts to organize grand Ramleelas in Delhi have rejuvenated the city’s cultural and spiritual values.

Concluding his address,  Ravinder Indraj appealed to citizens to support PM’s vision of Antyodaya and Atmanirbhar Bharat by promoting local artisans and purchasing indigenous products during the upcoming Diwali festival.
