New Delhi, 09 December 2023– Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, Ms. Meenakshi Lekhi, played a pivotal role in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, a transformative initiative aimed at saturating welfare programs across the nation. The event unfolded in the Chanakyapuri area of South Delhi, where Minister Lekhi not only administered the pledge of Viksit Bharat but also engaged with beneficiaries, symbolizing the government’s commitment to direct outreach.
In her address, Ms. Lekhi underscored the importance of good governance, emphasizing the government’s ability to reach people directly through such impactful campaigns. She lauded the Modi government’s efforts to ensure administration reaches the doorsteps of those in need, highlighting the revival of India’s rich culture and heritage. The Minister paid tribute to unsung heroes like Neera Arya, head of the intelligence unit of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s Indian National Army, stressing the importance of preserving the legacy of those who fought for the nation’s independence.
Reflecting on the past, Ms. Lekhi lamented the inefficiencies in previous welfare schemes, where corruption hindered the intended impact. She commended the current government for its transparent approach, ensuring that allocated funds genuinely benefit the common man.
Speaking on the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, the Minister emphasized the government’s responsibility to inform citizens about various programs and facilitate their participation. She highlighted the ongoing health checks and door-to-door campaigns, showcasing the government’s commitment to assisting those who are yet to avail themselves of Prime Minister Modi’s initiatives.
Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, launched nationwide, aims to raise awareness about government welfare programs. In Delhi, the campaign has seen enthusiastic participation since its launch on 28th November, with specially designed IEC vans covering over 600 locations in 11 districts. The urban campaign focuses on creating awareness about key schemes such as PM Svanidhi, Mudra Loans, Stand Up India, Start Up India, Digital Payments, PM eBusSewa, Ayushman Bharat, PM Awas (Urban), and PM Ujjwala Yojana.
The campaign includes on-the-spot services like PM Svanidhi Camp, Health Camp, Ayushman Card camp, Aadhar updation camp, and PM Ujjwala camp organized by urban local bodies and district administration at various locations visited by the vans. The people of the National Capital, particularly women, are actively participating in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, making it a significant step towards building a stronger and more informed India.
