Faridabad, May 12: Haryana Industries, Commerce, Environment, and Forest Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, has stated that officials must adopt a responsible and sensitive approach toward the citizens and address their issues on a priority basis. He was chairing the monthly meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee held at the HUDA Convention Hall in Sector 12, Faridabad, on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner Vikram Singh welcomed and felicitated the Minister during the meeting. A total of 16 grievances were presented, out of which 9 were resolved on the spot. For the remaining 7 cases, concerned officials were instructed to take prompt and necessary action for early resolution.
Drinking water crisis is intolerable
Minister Rao Narbir Singh has directed a state-level inquiry into a complaint against a private hospital. Regarding the issue of drinking water availability in Sector 23, he instructed the officials to take immediate action, emphasizing that a water crisis cannot be tolerated in any circumstance. He added that residents should not rely on water tankers and that permanent solutions must be ensured, urging coordination between MCF (Municipal Corporation Faridabad) and FMDA (Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority).
In the case involving a tube well operator, he ordered a swift investigation and prompt action.
Regarding the construction of a service road in Sector 25, officials were ordered to complete the work by May 30. In another complaint concerning a high-tension electricity pole obstructing the road in Sectors 75–76, a survey was ordered, followed by quick action. Additionally, the Minister instructed repairs of service roads for smoother public movement.
He also ordered that desilting and cleaning of all drains be completed before the monsoon season to prevent waterlogging.
In a financial fraud case, both parties were instructed to appear before the DC and Grievance Committee to assist in the investigation.
Seal illegal RMC plants, submit report this week
Separately, the Pollution Control Board was directed to inspect RMC (Ready-Mix Concrete) plants operating in the district, submit a report within the week, and seal all illegal units.
In a complaint from Dayalpur village regarding road widening, the Minister directed that a humane approach be adopted. If homes are in the way, they should not be demolished; instead, alternative routes should be explored.
He urged all officials to work with honesty and accountability in the public interest so that the common people get relief and timely redressal of complaints is ensured.
Emphasis on transparency and sensitivity in grievance resolution
During the meeting, Mr. Rao Narbir Singh stressed the importance of transparency and sensitivity in addressing public grievances. He instructed that whether received online or offline, all complaints should be acted upon promptly, and concrete steps must be taken toward resolution.
He emphasized that instead of raising repeated objections on complaint files, officials should clearly inform the complainant of the rules in one go, to prevent unnecessary visits to offices.
He asserted that officers should listen to the public seriously, just as elected representatives do, and ensure time-bound resolution of issues.
The Minister further said that complainants should be regularly updated on the status of their complaints and should feel assured that their concerns have been heard and understood.
While reviewing grievances, he instructed officials to ensure transparency in their conduct and accountability in all departmental tasks.
