After the meeting, Sandhu said it was a “pleasure” to call on the Home Minister and described the interaction as an engaging discussion on matters of mutual interest and governance.

Sandhu, who recently assumed office as Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor, has emphasized a development-oriented approach for the city. He earlier said the national capital must move forward collectively and compete with leading capitals around the world.

The former diplomat, who served as India’s Ambassador to the United States, was appointed Delhi LG as part of a recent gubernatorial reshuffle, replacing V.K. Saxena.

Officials said the meeting underlined the Centre’s focus on strengthening governance and improving public services in Delhi.
