Hyderabad, June 11 – Zoom Communications has announced the successful rollout of its Zoom Phone service across six major telecom circles in India, marking a significant step in its ongoing expansion.
Following its earlier launches in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, the service is now live in four more circles — Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Karnataka (Bengaluru), and Andhra Pradesh & Telangana (Hyderabad). These regions represent some of India’s most vital business and tech hubs. The Delhi NCR circle also includes Ghaziabad, Faridabad, NOIDA, and Gurgaon.
Zoom Phone, licensed by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), is designed as a cloud telephony solution tailored for modern, distributed workplaces. Offered as an add-on for existing paid Zoom customers, it enables inbound and outbound PSTN calling and serves as a replacement for traditional PBX systems. The platform supports enterprises in streamlining communications through Zoom’s unified AI-powered workplace suite.
Velchamy Sankarlingam, Zoom’s President of Product and Engineering, said the rollout reflects strong demand for agile, AI-first communication tools. “As India continues moving away from legacy systems, Zoom Phone delivers the simplicity and power businesses need,” he noted.
Even in regions where direct Zoom Phone service isn’t yet available, businesses can still access native phone numbers via Zoom’s self-service portal—allowing them to establish a local presence and operate seamlessly nationwide.
Sameer Raje, General Manager and Head of India & SAARC, added, “This rollout reinforces our commitment to empowering organizations across India with modern, scalable telephony solutions. Expanding into more telecom circles is the next natural step.”
Zoom aims to further broaden coverage, continuing its focus on enhancing collaboration infrastructure for Indian enterprises.
