Faridabad: Union Minister of State Krishan Pal Gurjar said that ‘Viksit Bharat–G RAM G’ Viksit Bharat- Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill, 2025 is not merely an employment scheme but a guarantee of sustainable livelihood, which will strengthen villages and accelerate the vision of a Developed India by 2047. Addressing a press conference at the BJP District Office, Atal Kamal, he said the scheme aims to make rural India self-reliant by empowering the poor, tribal and backward sections with assured employment and livelihood opportunities.

He stated that in line with the Viksit Bharat 2047 national vision, the law restructures rural development by amending old provisions and granting villages greater rights, autonomy and transparency. Key objectives include corruption-free gram panchayats, good governance and public participation, laying the foundation for strong and empowered villages. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently prioritised the welfare of the poor, farmers and labourers since 2014. Explaining the ‘Viksit Bharat–G RAM G’, he said the scheme ensures 125 days of employment annually, with wages credited directly to bank accounts within seven days, failing which interest will be paid.

A new Rural Employment Guarantee Card will be issued as a valid document for demanding work and wages. Work will remain suspended for 60 days during paddy harvesting to avoid disruption to agriculture. Administrative expenditure has been raised to 9 percent, with special priority for women. Rural development works under the scheme have been categorised into four areas water security, rural infrastructure, climate-related works, and agriculture & animal husbandry to ensure faster and effective execution. Higher budgetary allocation has also been made.

He alleged that MNREGA had become a hub of corruption during Congress rule, citing fake accounts and payments made to deceased persons. He said the new law introduces digital monitoring, real-time data, GPS tracking and AI-based fraud detection to ensure transparency and accountability. He added that rural poverty has declined from 25.7% in 2011–12 to 4.86% in 2023–24, making reforms in employment schemes essential. Of the total Rs.11.74 lakh crore paid under MNREGA so far, Rs.8.54 lakh crore has been disbursed during the last 11 years under the Modi government.

Accusing Congress and opposition parties of spreading misinformation on the G RAM G scheme, he said they oppose every reform linked to the poor. He also pointed out that while Congress repeatedly renamed employment schemes in the past, the Modi government focuses on work over names. He announced that ministers and MLAs will visit villages to directly engage with people, counter misinformation and ensure awareness of the scheme.

The goal, he said, is to make every village self-reliant and a partner in national development. BJP District President Pankaj Rampal said the VB G RAM G law is a historic step towards justice, fair wages and transparency for workers. He noted that Haryana, under Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, offers the highest minimum wage in the country at Rs.400 per day, and the new provisions will provide at least Rs.10,000 additional benefit to each worker, strengthening the rural economy and curbing migration.
