New Delhi : On the occasion of the 79th Raising Day of Delhi Police, Satish Golchha, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, today unveiled a grand portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the Police Headquarters, Jai Singh Road.
The portrait, installed on the front glass elevation of the Headquarters building, is a magnificent 32-feet tall 3D installation on the outer facade. The unveiling ceremony was held in the presence of senior officers and personnel of Delhi Police, marking a moment of pride and tribute to the ‘Loh Purush’ (Iron man).
On this significant occasion, the Commissioner of Police also unveiled a model trophy vitrine at the reception area of the Delhi Police Headquarters. The vitrine has been specially designed to showcase the prestigious “Best Police Station in the Country” trophy, symbolizing excellence in policing and commitment to public service. Marking the event with a gesture towards environmental responsibility, the CP Delhi also planted a tree within the PHQ premises.
Further strengthening technological initiatives, the CP Delhi, today, at PHQ, launched a new web/tablet application for Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) and Character Verification Report (CVR), which has been deployed for public use. The PCC and CVR application aim to provide a secure, transparent, and efficient digital platform for the public, facilitating improved accessibility and streamlined processing. The web and tablet-based interface ensures ease of use while enabling faster service delivery and improved monitoring mechanisms. The PCC and CVR certificates are verified through this portal by the Special Branch in a completely digitized manner and are made available to applicants on their e-mail within 21 days of the application. The launch of this application marks a significant step towards strengthening technology-driven smart policing and improving public convenience.

The CP Delhi also inaugurated the JJ Premier League (T-10 Cricket Tournament) at the Short Firing Range, Parade Ground, NPL. The tournament, is being organized under the leadership of Vijay Singh, IPS, Jt. CP/NR. Ravindra Yadav, Spl. CP/L&O (Zone-I) and senior officers of Delhi Police were also present at the event. The JJ Premier League has been conceptualized as a progressive initiative to promote physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle among youth, encourage them to stay away from drugs and substance abuse, and sensitize them against crime and illegal activities.
At Delhi Police Raising Day Parade held at Parade Ground, New Police Lines, the CP Delhi in his address, at the outset, extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest on behalf of the entire Delhi Police family and further stated that ensuring the security of Delhi is a responsibility of national importance and in discharging this duty, Delhi Police derives immense strength from the clear guidance and continuous support of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Reaffirming the commitment towards a “Drug-Free India,” in the year 2025, Delhi Police seized 6,144 KG of narcotic drugs. To destroy the economic backbone of narcotics networks, 44 properties linked to drug trafficking have been seized in 2025 and for the first time, 29 such properties have been demolished after due legal process.

To strengthen enforcement under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), a dedicated MCOCA Cell has been established within the Crime Branch. The Special Cell, in close coordination with central agencies, is actively pursuing the case of 32 fugitives hiding abroad. In 2025, two such criminals were successfully deported from foreign countries to India. To dismantle the cybercrime ecosystem, Delhi Police became the first in India, in May 2025, to initiate automatic registration of cases in financial cybercrime complaints involving amounts exceeding ₹10 lakh. In November 2025, this threshold was further reduced to ₹1 lakh, and such cases are now being registered directly at the police station level.
Under three phases of Operation CyHawk conducted over the past three months, 18,000 suspects were apprehended, 3,000 were arrested or bound down, and 1,000 new FIRs were registered. Speaking further the CP Delhi informed that during last one year, 83 police personnel sustained injuries in the line of duty. These sustained efforts have resulted in a significant reduction in crime. Compared to 2024, in 2025 heinous crimes have reduced by 8%, robbery by 12%, snatching by 17%, burglary by 26%, and extortion by 7%. Motor vehicle theft and street crime PCR calls have also shown a declining trend.
