Union Territory Level Workshop on Follow up of DGsP/IGsP Conference-2025 held at PHQ in the presence of LG Delhi

LG Delhi approves Honorary Rank Promotion Scheme for Delhi Police from the rank of Constable upto Sub-Inspector

A Union Territory Level Workshop as the follow up of All India DGsP/IGsP Conference-2025 (Raipur, Chhattisgarh) was held today at Adarsh Auditorium, Police Headquarters, Delhi in the presence of  Vinai Kumar Saxena, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi. The workshop was aimed at implementation upon the actionable points of the Conference and to deliberate upon them with the officers upto the rank of ACP.

In his welcome address Robin Hibu, IPS, Spl. CP/HRD expressed gratitude to the LG, Delhi for sparing his valuable time for the workshop and welcomed Chief Secretary, GNCTD, Addl. Chief Secretary(Home), GNCTD, Addl. Director/IB and all present, at the event.

The inaugural session was addressed by  Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, Spl. CP/Crime. A detailed presentation was made about the actionable points of the All India DGsP/IGsP Conference-2025. The performance report on achievements of Delhi Police was presented before LG, Delhi and specific meticulous compliance was assured on the actionable points of the DGsP/IGsP Conference, with the whole of govt. approach in a time bound manner. The proposals pending with MHA/GNCT, Delhi to achieve the goals were also enlisted.

In his address,  Satish Golchha, IPS, Commissioner of Police Delhi at the outset expressed his gratitude towards LG, Delhi for attending today’s event and further highlighted how Delhi Police has acted tough against the terror by busting 70 terror sleeper modules in last three years and arrested 30 terrorists and their accomplices. Speaking further, he highlighted that Delhi Police is putting a special focus on threat and extortion calls by gangsters. Delhi Police is also focusing on Cyber Crime and the steps include reducing the threshold limit for e-FIR of cheated amount from Rs.10 lacs. to Rs. 1 lac. Among the special operations like Cyhawk to uproot the eco system of cyber criminals. Speaking further, CP, Delhi also highlighted the efforts made by Delhi Police against narcotics drugs, increasing number of PCR vans, community policing schemes like Sashakti, action against overstaying foreigners/illegal immigrants and steps to improve traffic in Capital City. The CP, Delhi assured LG, Delhi that Delhi Police which is always a proud, professional, resilient force and counted among the best police force in the world will continue to work with same enthusiasm, in future also.

Speaking on the occasion, Vinai Kumar Saxena, LG Delhi praised the investigation efforts made by Delhi Police in the aftermath of Red Fort car blast incident and against the organised crimes/drugs/gangsters. The LG, Delhi also highlighted that, till date, seized drugs of over 45,000 Kg. worth about Rs.14,000 crore have been destroyed by Delhi Police in last three years. He also praised the Community Policing initiatives of Delhi Police including Sashakti, We Care, YUVA, Prahari etc. and he further directed Delhi Police to take firm action against those encroaching upon footpaths by parking their vehicles. Significant step to boost the morale of Delhi Police Personnel, LG, Delhi also announced the approval of Honorary Rank Promotion Scheme for Delhi Police (Constable to Sub-Inspector) i.e. now a person from the rank of Constable to Sub-Inspector will don the uniform of next rank on the day of his/her retirement.
