NEW DELHI– Delhi Chief Minister Atishi visited Kusumpur Pahadi in Vasant Vihar to meet the family of the student who passed away under tragic circumstances earlier this week. Offering her condolences, CM Atishi assured the family of all possible support from the Delhi government.
Addressing the media, CM Atishi said, “Two days ago, a tragic incident occurred near Vasant Vihar, where a school student lost their life under suspicious circumstances. It is deeply troubling that such an incident could happen within the school premises.”
She further added, “We have formed a committee under the Education Department to investigate the matter thoroughly. If any negligence on the part of the school is found, the strictest action will be taken against those responsible.”
The Chief Minister has also directed the Chief Secretary to conduct a magisterial inquiry and submit a detailed report within three days. In her directive to the Chief Secretary, she stated, “This is an extremely serious incident that raises questions about the safety of students across schools in Delhi. Therefore, a magisterial inquiry must be conducted into this matter, and the report should be submitted within three days.”
Highlighting the broader implications of the rising crime rate, CM Atishi stated, “It is alarming to see how the environment of violence and crime in Delhi is now affecting our children. In a shocking incident, a child in Class 6 was subjected to such violence that it resulted in their death. This is a wake-up call for all of us.”
She appealed to the residents of Delhi, saying, “I urge all Delhiites to come together and address the issues of violence, crime, and lawlessness. There is no place for such acts in our lives. The city is witnessing an unprecedented rise in incidents like shootings, murders, and extortion, which is taking a toll on the safety and well-being of our society.”
She further remarked, “When a city descends into such chaos, our children are inevitably impacted. They grow up witnessing and hearing about these incidents daily—be it shootings, murders, or gang-related activities. This constant exposure to crime and violence creates a toxic environment for them. However, let me assure everyone that this matter will be thoroughly investigated, and anyone found guilty of negligence will face strict consequences.”
Taking to X (erstwhile Twitter), CM Atishi wrote,”Two days ago, a 12-year-old student tragically lost their life under suspicious circumstances in a private school in Vasant Vihar. Today, I met the grieving family and extended my condolences. A committee has been formed by the Education Department to investigate the matter, and strict action will be taken if any negligence is found.”
“The rising crime and lawlessness in Delhi are deeply troubling. Murders, shootings, and assaults have become alarmingly common, and this is now impacting even our children. I appeal to all Delhiites to unite against the deteriorating law and order situation before it’s too late.”
