PM Modi Expresses Grief Over Arpora Fire Tragedy, Announces Assistance for Victims

New Delhi, December 7, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in a devastating fire incident in Arpora, Goa. He also conveyed his wishes for a quick recovery for all those who were injured.

The Prime Minister shared that he had spoken with Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant to review the situation. He assured that the state administration is extending every possible support to the affected families.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister wrote that the incident was “deeply saddening” and offered heartfelt condolences to those who lost their loved ones, adding that the state government is actively providing relief and assistance.

To support the families impacted by the tragedy, the Prime Minister announced financial aid from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF). As part of the relief measures:

  • ₹2 lakh will be provided to the next of kin of each deceased.

  • ₹50,000 will be given to each of the injured.

The Prime Minister’s Office later confirmed the relief announcement on social media, reiterating the government’s commitment to helping those affected during this difficult time.
