The initiative aimed to promote the vision of a drug-free India—an effort being actively undertaken by all DAV schools and colleges across India in association with Arya Yuva Samaj.
The programme was organised under the guidance and leadership of Yogi Suri Ji, National President, Arya Yuva Samaj, who also presided over the event, inspiring the youth to adopt a healthy and disciplined lifestyle. Several distinguished guests graced the occasion. Krishan Pal Gurjar Ji, Minister of State for Cooperation, Government of India, honoured the campaign with his presence as the Chief Guest. V.K. Chopra Ji (Director, DAV College Managing Committee), Dr. Anup Kumar (Coordinator, Colleges DAVCMC), Dhanesh Adlakha (MLA, Badkhal Assembly), and Shri Rakesh Dhunna (noted social worker) were present as Guests of Honour. A large number of parents, teachers and local residents also participated enthusiastically.
The day began with a vibrant and impactful Nasha-Mukti Awareness Rally, which commenced from the school premises. Students, along with teachers and parents, carried banners and posters displaying anti-drug messages and raised slogans to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug addiction. The rally moved through neighbouring areas and culminated at the Sainik Colony Market, where the main event was held.
Upon reaching the venue, the programme began with Vedic chanting, followed by the Principal, Shri Rajan Gautam, offering the first ahuti to formally commence the hawan. Thereafter, students seated across the 100 hawan kunds offered ahutis in unison, filling the atmosphere with sacred vibrations of peace, purity and unity. Non-stop soulful Bhajans echoed around the venue by the school choir.
After the hawan, students presented a powerful and thought-provoking street play on drug de-addiction, highlighting the consequences of substance abuse and urging the youth to say ‘No’ to drugs. Their performance received high appreciation from the dignitaries and the audience.
Addressing the gathering, Yogi Suri Ji praised the school’s endeavour and urged the youth to lead a disciplined, addiction-free life. Union Minister Krishan Pal Gurjar Ji, in his address, emphasised that a drug-free society can be achieved only when families, schools and communities work together to spread awareness. School Activity Coordinator Ms. Deepshikha Bhatia administered the pledge for a Drug-Free India, reinforcing the collective resolve.
The programme concluded with the Shanti Path, followed by the National Anthem. As a gesture of gratitude and community bonding, prasad was distributed and a small bhandara was organised for all attendees.
The school reaffirmed its commitment to continue organising socially meaningful and awareness-based programmes in the future.
