Darbhanga, May 4, 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted his commitment to safeguarding the existing reservation for Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Other Backward Classes (OBCs), stating, “Until I’m alive,” during a public rally seeking support for NDA candidates in the Lok Sabha elections.
Accusing leaders of the India bloc of attempting to dilute the existing reservation and allocate it to Muslims, PM Modi emphasized that he would not allow such actions to occur. He highlighted the advocacy against religion-based reservation by the architects of the constitution, including B.R. Ambedkar, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
Referring to attempts by the Congress and its ally RJD to provide reservation based on religion, PM Modi cautioned against the detrimental impact such measures would have on the interests of OBCs, SCs, and STs. He criticized the divisive tactics employed by India bloc leaders, warning against attempts to divide society based on caste and religion for electoral gains.
PM Modi condemned the politicization of the Armed Forces and emphasized that soldiers, as defenders of the nation, are not identified by their religion but as sons of “Maa Bharti” (Motherland). He also criticized the actions of the India bloc during the Congress-led UPA government, highlighting instances such as the Banerjee Commission’s suppression of facts related to the Godhra incident.
Additionally, PM Modi addressed concerns regarding the imposition of inheritance tax, emphasizing the injustice of seizing a significant portion of an individual’s assets after their death. He urged people to consider whether they would allow such actions to occur, receiving overwhelming negative responses.
PM Modi urged voters to reject leaders of the India bloc for their actions during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in Delhi and Maharashtra, where Bihar residents were reportedly mistreated. He emphasized the collapse of law and order in Bihar during the RJD regime, promising healthcare support for senior citizens through Aayushman cards if the NDA government is elected to power.
