Faridabad: In a strong step toward empowering women and supporting their aspirations, Rotary Club of Faridabad One inaugurated a sewing centre at Vrinda Public School in SGM Nagar on Wednesday. The centre was formally opened by Mayor Praveen Batra Joshi, who praised the initiative for promoting women’s self-reliance and skill enhancement.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from newly appointed club president Rajeev Sood, along with Rotarians Vinay Bhatia, Virendra Mehta, Puneeta Bhatia, Rahul Makheja, Rajendra Gulati, Sanjay Juneja, Pankaj Pasricha, Jawahar Gulati, P.L. Juneja, and Nikita Mehra. Each of them encouraged the attending women and pledged continued support for such community-oriented initiatives.
The project was made possible through the efforts of Dr. Vijay Lakshmi and Rotarian Beenu Sharma, whose contributions were pivotal in bringing the sewing centre to life. School principal Vijay Lakshmi extended heartfelt gratitude to Rotary Club Faridabad One for supporting the initiative.
Also present on the occasion was Ward 36 Councillor Kuldeep Sahni, who lauded the club’s consistent commitment to social service. Mayor Praveen Joshi appreciated the club’s dedication to women empowerment and commended the unique approach taken by its members.
Speaking at the event, Rotarian Virendra Mehta noted that under President Rajeev Sood’s leadership, the club is planning several large-scale community service projects. Councillor Kuldeep Sahni added that while Rotary Club is well-known for tree plantations and blood donation camps, members like Virendra Mehta have undertaken innovative efforts like the Bicycle Project and beautification of Rotary Chowk.
Rotarian Vinay Bhatia also expressed gratitude for being able to contribute to a noble cause on his birthday, calling it a meaningful celebration.
