CM Yogi Adityanath Mourns Lightning Tragedy Victims in Prayagraj

LUCKNOW, 15 JUNE : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep condolences on Sunday over multiple tragic incidents, including a lightning strike in Prayagraj, a drowning accident in Saharanpur, and a devastating plane crash in Ahmedabad.
In Prayagraj, several lives were lost due to a lightning strike. CM Yogi conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the grieving families and prayed for peace to the departed souls. He directed officials to provide immediate financial assistance to the next of kin of the deceased and ensure proper medical care for those injured in the incident.
In another tragic event in Saharanpur district, the Chief Minister took cognizance of a fatal accident during a group bathing session in a canal. He extended condolences to the families of the victims and instructed officials to reach the site without delay, expedite rescue operations, and ensure immediate medical treatment for the injured. CM Yogi also wished a speedy recovery for those hospitalized.
Further extending his condolences, CM Yogi mourned the death of former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and others in the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad on Thursday. In a post on social media platform X, he said, “The death of former Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Vijay Rupani ji and other passengers and crew members in the plane crash in Ahmedabad is extremely sad and heartbreaking. Humble tribute to him.” The ill-fated Air India Flight AI171, en route from Ahmedabad to London, crashed shortly after takeoff, colliding with a doctors’ hostel at BJ Medical College.
The crash claimed 241 lives out of the 242 people on board, including 230 passengers and 12 crew members. The lone survivor, identified as Vishwashkumar Ramesh, a British national of Indian origin, is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries.
CM Yogi concluded his message with a prayer to Lord Shri Ram to give strength to the bereaved families and grant peace to the departed souls.
Yogi Adityanath’s swift response to the recent tragedies in Prayagraj, Saharanpur, and Ahmedabad underscores his deep concern for public welfare. By extending heartfelt condolences and ensuring immediate relief measures, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to compassionate governance.
His directive to expedite financial aid and medical assistance reflects a proactive approach to crisis management.
