PM Modi in Gujarat Today to Unveil Mega Projects Worth ₹82,000 Crore

Ahmedabad, 26 May: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to kick off a two-day visit to his home state Gujarat on Monday, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for development projects valued at over ₹82,000 crore.

This marks his first visit to the state following Operation Sindoor. PM Modi’s itinerary includes launching key infrastructure, rail, water, and housing projects, along with two new train services.

The visit begins in Dahod, where the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Loco Manufacturing Shop-Rolling Stock Workshop, a major facility built under the ‘Make in India’ initiative with an investment of over ₹21,000 crore. From here, he will also flag off two new train services — the Sabarmati-Veraval Vande Bharat Express and the Valsad-Dahod Express — via video conferencing.

The Sabarmati-Veraval Vande Bharat will operate six days a week, enhancing connectivity to the Somnath temple, a key pilgrimage site. Meanwhile, the Valsad-Dahod Express, running daily with 17 coaches, will serve 12 stations, improving regional rail access across south and central Gujarat.

PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for railway and other projects in Dahod worth ₹24,000 crore and address a public rally in Kharod.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister will visit Bhuj to launch multiple initiatives worth over ₹53,400 crore, covering sectors such as solar energy, power transmission, road construction, and infrastructure upgrades at Kandla Port. These projects span across Kutch, Jamnagar, Amreli, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, Ahmedabad, Tapi, and Mahisagar districts.

He will also inaugurate four drinking water improvement schemes valued at ₹181 crore. These will provide clean water to 4.62 lakh residents in 193 villages and one town across Mahisagar and Dahod districts.

On Monday evening, PM Modi will lead a 3-km roadshow from Ahmedabad Airport to Indira Bridge, where over 50,000 BJP workers and citizens are expected to gather. He will stay overnight at Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar.

On May 27, the Prime Minister will continue his engagements in Gandhinagar, including a 2-km roadshow and the launch of projects worth ₹5,536 crore. He will inaugurate over 22,000 PMAY homes, Phase-3 of the Sabarmati Riverfront, and distribute ₹3,300 crore in cheques to urban local bodies under the Swarnim Jayanti Shaheri Vikas Yojana.
