New Delhi — Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday emphasized the importance of collaborative governance, urging all states to work hand-in-hand with the Centre to fast-track India’s development and realise the vision of a developed nation by 2047.
Chairing the 10th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog in the national capital, the Prime Minister called on Chief Ministers and Union Ministers present to adopt a “Team India” approach, underscoring that collective effort is the key to national progress.
“If the Centre and all the states unite and operate as a single team, there is no target we cannot achieve,” said PM Modi. He urged leaders across the political and geographical spectrum to focus on grassroots transformation, aiming to make every village, municipality, and city developed as part of the broader ‘Viksit Bharat’ goal.
The meeting was attended by a wide range of state leaders, including Andhra Pradesh CM N. Chandrababu Naidu, Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, along with Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, JP Nadda, Nitin Gadkari, and Rammohan Naidu.
In his address, the Prime Minister said that progress must reflect tangibly in people’s lives. “Change becomes a movement only when citizens begin to feel it. Our development must be visible, impactful, and inclusive,” he noted.
Highlighting key areas of focus, Modi called for strengthening women’s participation in the workforce through supportive laws and policies. He also emphasized the urgent need for building “future-ready cities” that integrate innovation and sustainability to accommodate India’s accelerating urban growth.
Tourism was identified as a major growth lever, with PM Modi encouraging every state to develop at least one globally competitive tourist destination.
The Governing Council meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the shared national goal: transforming India into a developed nation well before 2047, through unity, innovation, and inclusive development.
