New Delhi, May 17: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today laid the foundation stone for new water pipeline projects in Singalpur village and QU-Block of Pitampura, located in the Shalimar Bagh constituency. She also reviewed the progress of various ongoing development works in the area. On this occasion, the Chief Minister interacted with local residents to understand their issues and assured them of swift and effective solutions. These pipeline projects are a significant step towards strengthening the region’s infrastructure and improving the quality of life for its residents. A total expenditure of approximately ₹1.52 crore will be incurred on both projects.
While addressing residents of Singalpur, the Chief Minister stated that ensuring clean and adequate water supply across every corner of Delhi is a top priority of her government. She said that the residents of Singalpur had been facing water shortages for a long time. The new pipeline will now ensure regular and clean water supply, bringing much-needed relief to their daily lives.
She emphasized that no development work should be stalled, especially when it concerns public interest. The government is committed to executing every project with complete transparency, integrity, and accountability, ensuring that citizens receive the maximum benefits.
Later, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for another water pipeline project in QU-Block in Pitampura, where water supply has also been a major challenge. The new pipeline will ensure uninterrupted potable water in the area. While reviewing the progress of road construction, sewerage systems, and other civic amenities in QU-Block, the Chief Minister instructed officials to complete all projects within the stipulated time and with high quality standards.
She further informed that the Delhi Jal Board has been directed not only to lay new pipeline networks but also to replace old and leaking pipelines, so that residents do not face water shortages during the summer season. The Chief Minister reiterated her government’s commitment to strengthening water supply, sanitation, and basic infrastructure across all parts of Delhi. She added that the government is working tirelessly to meet every need of the people of Delhi, and these water pipeline projects are an important step in that direction. She also instructed Delhi Jal Board officials to ensure regular maintenance and monitoring of the pipelines to prevent any future disruptions.
