Under his leadership, Union Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal is focused on making India self-reliant in energy and advancing nuclear and solar power production. In line with this mission, Manohar Lal will present the ‘Power Model’ of Developed India at the BRICS Energy Ministers’ meeting in Brazil.
The meeting, themed “Harnessing Global South Cooperation for Inclusive and Sustainable Global Governance,” will witness discussions among BRICS energy ministers. At the BRICS forum, India will showcase achievements such as a 90% increase in electricity capacity over the past decade, leadership in renewable energy, green hydrogen, and biofuels, and advancements in innovation and sustainable energy development. India will also reaffirm its commitment to equitable energy access and accelerating energy transition. Manohar Lal will work with BRICS nations to chart a roadmap for a robust, future-ready, and sustainable energy sector.
