In line with its unwavering commitment to enhancing road safety and fostering responsible driving behavior, the Delhi Traffic Police successfully organized a series of Road Safety Awareness Programmes at various locations across the city. These initiatives aimed to educate different sections of the society including cyclists, bus drivers, NCC cadets, and young school children on key aspects of traffic regulations, women’s safety, and responsible road usage.
Empowering Young Minds: NCC Cadet Awareness Programme
A large-scale road safety programme was conducted at the 4th Battalion Carriappa Parade Ground exclusively for NCC Cadets. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 500 cadets and 8 officers, who were educated on traffic rules, road discipline, and the importance of adhering to safety norms, both as pedestrians and future drivers.
The interactive session featured safety demonstrations by the Road Safety Cell under the supervision of TI/DCC Inspector Sameer Srivastava, alongside a lively quiz competition. Cadets took part actively, making the session both educational and engaging.
Learning Through Experience
In another impactful effort, 277 students and 11 teachers from Ahlcon Public School, Mayur Vihar & Pragyan School Greater Noida visited the Bal Bhawan Traffic Training Park, where they received practical training on traffic rules and regulations in an interactive and engaging format.
The session included road safety films and a demonstration through the Mobile Van (MV Van), providing students with a real-time understanding of road safety practices.
Extending the Reach of Road Safety Awareness to Schools
Not just limited to specific groups, this road safety initiative continued to gain momentum as the Road Safety Cell staff visited SKV, Dhakka, to educate young minds about the importance of safe road practices. During the session, a total of 175 students and 5 teachers were sensitized about traffic rules, road discipline, and the significance of being responsible pedestrians and future drivers. The interactive session included demonstrations and discussions designed to instill lifelong road safety habits in students.
Awareness Session for Army Drivers
Another impactful effort under the ongoing Road Safety Awareness Programme was carried out at TPT Dhaula Kuan, where 80 army drivers and 4 officers were sensitized on traffic rules and safe driving practices. The session aimed to promote disciplined road behavior and enhance awareness about traffic regulations among military personnel. This initiative reflects the Delhi Traffic Police’s commitment to engaging all sections of society including those serving the nation in the mission of safer roads and responsible driving.
Senior officers, including Special CP Traffic Sh. Ajay Chaudhary, Addl. CP HQ Traffic Sh. Satyavir Katara, and DCP HQ I Traffic Sh. Shashank Jaiswal, commended the efforts of the Road Safety Cell in successfully spreading awareness. They emphasized the significance of such initiatives in fostering safer road habits and ensuring better compliance with traffic regulations, particularly among public transport personnel.
The Delhi Traffic Police remains committed to its mission of promoting road safety and building a culture of responsible road usage to ensure a safer, more efficient environment for all commuters.
