NEW DELHI, 09.04.2025: School students join Delhi Traffic Police’s road safety mission to increase awareness among road users
The Road Safety Cell of the Delhi Traffic Police recently organized a special awareness drive under the supervision of Additional Commissioner of Police (HQ Traffic) Shri Satya Vir Katara to promote road safety among commuters. As part of this initiative, 20 students from one school Shaheed Hemu Kalyani Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Lajpat Nagar, Delhi actively participated alongside traffic police officials at key road intersections across the city.

These students received specialized hands-on training, equipping them with practical knowledge of traffic management and road safety regulations. Positioned near traffic signals, they engaged with over 1000 commuters, reinforcing the importance of adhering to traffic rules. Their presence and enthusiasm served as a powerful reminder to drivers and pedestrians alike about responsible road behavior.


This initiative not only provided students with a valuable learning experience but also underscored the significance of community involvement in ensuring road safety. By fostering long-term behavioral changes, the program aims to empower young minds.
In a separate program, 2000 students from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sec-2 RK Puram, Delhi participated in an awareness session. The session emphasized the importance of road safety for young children, highlighting key lessons such as: Avoid playing on streets and use parks for recreation, only one person should ride a bicycle at a time, cycling on busy roads should be avoided for safety.

Senior officers, including Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Shri Ajay Chaudhary, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic HQ) Shri Kime Kaming, Additional Commissioner of Police (HQ Traffic) Shri Satya Vir Katara, and Deputy Commissioner of Police (HQ I Traffic) Shri Shashank Jaiswal, praised the efforts of the Road Safety Cell in raising awareness. They emphasized the importance of such programs in fostering better compliance with traffic rules, particularly among public transport personnel.

The Delhi Traffic Police remains committed to enhancing road safety awareness and creating a safer, more disciplined traffic environment for all citizens.
