New Delhi, Mar 12,2025: The Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) successfully test-fired the indigenous Astra Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile (BVRAAM) from the LCA AF MK1 prototype fighter jet on Wednesday.
The test was conducted off the Chandipur coast in Odisha, as per a statement from the Defence Ministry. The missile accurately struck its aerial target, demonstrating its precision and reliability. All subsystems operated flawlessly, meeting all mission objectives.

The achievement is credited to the collaborative efforts of scientists, engineers, and technicians from ADA, DRDO, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), with support from CEMILAC, DG-AQA, IAF, and test range teams. Additional tests are planned for further performance assessments.
