About the Virasat Mitra Programme:
The term Virasat means ‘legacy,’ and Mitra means ‘friend.’ The programme envisions students as friends of India’s legacy—engaging in cultural outreach, protection, and promotion. After the enrolment, the student has to take the mandatory orientation programme of one credit and certified as a Virasat Mitra.
The initiative will enable participants to:
Gain insights into India’s tangible and intangible heritage.
Participate in field visits, workshops, and interactive learning.
Work with experts in archaeology, art, and cultural heritage management.
Contribute to heritage documentation, storytelling, and awareness campaigns.
Be recognized as Virasat Ambassadors, enhancing their academic and professional journey.
The event concluded with an interactive heritage quiz held on Kaushal Gurukulam Learning management platform and around 45 students enrolled and participated. A token of appreciation is presented to the students who have provided 80-90% correct answers. Students from various colleges have enrolled to become Virasat Mitras, dedicating themselves to protecting and celebrating India’s glorious past while shaping its vibrant future.
