New Delhi, Jan 7, 2025: Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Tuesday accused the BJP-led central government of evicting her from her official residence for the second time in just three months, right before the announcement of Delhi Assembly elections.

In a joint press conference with senior leader Saurabh Bhardwaj, Atishi claimed, “The BJP-led central government has once again evicted me from the official residence allotted to me as Chief Minister, just a night before the election announcement. This is the second time in three months that they’ve taken such an action.”

She further stated that the BJP had revoked the allotment of her residence, despite it being given to her in her capacity as the Chief Minister, and added, “This is a blatant attempt by the BJP to undermine a democratically elected leader.”

Recalling a similar incident from three months ago, Atishi said, “When I first became the Chief Minister, they removed my personal belongings and those of my family from the residence and left them on the street. The BJP seems to think that by taking away my home, insulting me, and making derogatory remarks about my family, they can stop the work we’re doing for the people of Delhi.”

Despite these challenges, Atishi reaffirmed her commitment to public service, vowing to double her efforts for the people of Delhi. “They may take my home, insult my family, and try to break me, but they will never extinguish our passion for serving the people of Delhi,” she declared.

She also promised to continue her work for women’s empowerment, stating that every woman in Delhi would receive Rs 2,100 under the Mahila Samman Yojana, turning adversity into action.

Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj criticized the BJP’s actions, saying, “The BJP’s focus is solely on crushing the Aam Aadmi Party and its leaders, showing complete disregard for the people of Delhi. Their actions have hit a new low.”

He further highlighted the BJP’s lack of concern for Delhi’s vital issues such as water, electricity, and healthcare, pointing out that the party has shown no interest in addressing these pressing matters.

In response, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal expressed his dismay on Twitter: “The BJP’s decision to evict Atishi Ji again reflects their frustration. Their defeat in the upcoming Delhi elections is inevitable, which is why they have resorted to such cheap tactics.
