Ambala/Chandigarh/New Delhi, December 27 – Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labor Minister Anil Vij expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the former Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, calling it unfortunate and heart-wrenching.

Posting on X (previously Twitter), Cabinet Minister Anil Vij wrote, “The demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is unfortunate and heart-wrenching. I express my condolences on his passing.”

He further stated that his thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time of grief. He prayed that the Almighty gives strength to the family to endure this loss and said that Dr. Singh’s memories will always remain alive in our hearts.

It is worth noting that former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away at the age of 92 on Thursday (December 26). He was undergoing treatment for age-related health conditions and suddenly fell unconscious at home on December 26, 2024. Emergency measures were immediately initiated at home. He was brought to AIIMS Medical Emergency in New Delhi at 8:06 PM. Despite all efforts, he could not be saved, and he was declared dead at 9:51 PM.

Notably, the government has canceled all scheduled programs for today (December 27) and has announced a seven-day national mourning. Dr. Manmohan Singh’s funeral will be conducted with full state honors. Dr. Singh was born in Punjab in 1932 and served as India’s Prime Minister for two consecutive terms from 2004 to 2014. He was succeeded by PM Narendra Modi in 2014.
