New Delhi, December 25 – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of conspiring with central agencies to arrest Delhi Chief Minister Atishi. In a media address on Wednesday, Kejriwal claimed that the BJP is deeply disturbed by the success of AAP’s welfare schemes, specifically the Mahila Samman Yojana and the Sanjeevani Yojana, and is planning to arrest Atishi by fabricating a false case.
Kejriwal alleged that the BJP is upset by the overwhelming response to these schemes, especially the Mahila Samman Yojana, which provides financial assistance to women, and the Sanjeevani Yojana, which aims to provide free medical treatment for senior citizens. According to Kejriwal, the registrations for these programs have rattled the BJP, prompting them to orchestrate a plan to arrest Atishi.
“We have launched the Mahila Samman Yojana and the scheme for free medical treatment for senior citizens. The BJP is rattled by the registrations for these schemes, and as a result, they are plotting to arrest Atishi in the coming days by fabricating a false case,” Kejriwal stated. He further added that the Delhi Cabinet had already approved a Rs 1,000 allowance for the schemes, and a notification for the same had been issued.
Kejriwal also revealed that, according to sources, a recent meeting was held between officials from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED), and Income Tax, where they were allegedly instructed to arrest Atishi by concocting a false case. He further claimed that raids would be conducted on senior AAP leaders as part of the BJP’s broader conspiracy.
In his speech, Kejriwal criticized the BJP for failing to do meaningful work in Delhi over the last ten years, claiming that the party has relied solely on criticism and abuse to secure votes. He contrasted this with AAP’s positive campaign, which focuses on its achievements in providing welfare to Delhi’s residents.
“Despite all the conspiracies by the BJP and their LG to obstruct our work, we have not stopped,” Kejriwal asserted, adding that the BJP is aware of its impending defeat in Delhi and is therefore resorting to such tactics. “They are trying to distract us with these fabricated cases, but we will continue our work for the people of Delhi,” he concluded.
Kejriwal’s accusations come at a time when the political environment in Delhi is heating up, with elections drawing near and both the AAP and BJP intensifying their campaigns.
