On August 29, 2024, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed a gathering at Government Inter College, Lal Imli, in Kanpur, where he sharply criticized the Samajwadi Party (SP) for its alleged history of misconduct. He stated that the party’s actions are well-documented, filled with what he referred to as “kaale kaarname” (dark deeds), remarking, “Samajwadi Party ki topi laal, lekin kaarname kaale hain,” which translates to “The Samajwadi Party wears a red cap, but their deeds are dark.”
During his speech, CM Yogi highlighted the SP’s supposed track record of hooliganism and chaos, claiming that their public image is merely a facade that conceals their true character. He pointed out that the ongoing by-elections in Sisamau are a direct consequence of the party’s mismanagement and failures.
As part of the event, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹750 crore. He also distributed appointment letters to more than a thousand young individuals, along with loans totaling ₹191 crore to 5,027 beneficiaries. In addition, tablets and smartphones were provided to 8,087 youths. CM Yogi expressed gratitude for the election victories of BJP candidates Ramesh Awasthi from Kanpur and Devendra Singh ‘Bhole’ from Akbarpur in the recent Lok Sabha elections.
Further criticizing the SP, CM Yogi alleged that its members exploit the vulnerable and incite unrest. He recalled an incident where an SP MLA allegedly plotted to instigate riots during a visit by former President Ram Nath Kovind. He emphasized that the public had entrusted the SP with a five-year mandate, yet they now face by-elections due to the party’s failures.
He also spoke about a serious incident involving an SP leader in Ayodhya, condemning the party’s chief for supporting the perpetrator of a crime against a young woman. CM Yogi recounted a disturbing event in Lucknow where SP associates reportedly attempted to harm a girl, reinforcing his view of the party’s character.
The Chief Minister praised the BJP’s double-engine government in Uttar Pradesh for creating a model of safety, governance, and development. He called on the public to look forward to a future filled with hope and aspirations, reflecting the progress made since the BJP came into power in 2017.
CM Yogi highlighted the challenges the state faced before 2017, such as anarchy, violence, and a lack of safety for its citizens. He pointed out that Uttar Pradesh was once unattractive to investors, causing many youths to seek better opportunities elsewhere. However, he noted that the BJP’s governance has led to significant advancements, making the state a benchmark for development and law enforcement.
He also addressed the historical significance of Lal Imli, which had suffered due to corruption during Congress rule. The Chief Minister outlined plans for revitalizing the area as part of a broader initiative aimed at improving the livelihoods of local residents.
In his concluding remarks, CM Yogi assured the audience of his government’s commitment to job creation, highlighting that over 650,000 youths have secured government positions since 2017 without the need for bribes or recommendations. He reinforced the message that strict actions would be taken against those compromising the future of the youth.
With ambitious plans for development, including the establishment of a defense manufacturing hub and various infrastructure projects, CM Yogi concluded that the BJP is dedicated to fostering a safer and more prosperous Uttar Pradesh while calling for an end to the SP and Congress’s involvement in disorder and violence.
