Faridabad, 25 November 23– MLA Neeraj Sharma from the NIT area has taken a stand against the prolonged delay in crucial development works, vowing to prioritize the welfare of the NIT assembly constituency over personal comfort. Despite persistent efforts to engage with authorities, a significant budget of Rs 27.48 crore allocated for vital development projects has remained stagnant since October. Currently conducting a Ram Katha in America from November 24 to December 4, MLA Sharma, through a strongly-worded letter to the Director of the Urban Local Bodies Department, highlighted the longstanding issues plaguing the NIT assembly constituency.

Underling the deplorable condition that has persisted for years, he issued a stern warning that if the budget allocation for essential development works in his assembly constituency is not secured by December 4, he is prepared to take an extreme step of shedding his clothes in protest during the upcoming assembly session. This bold ultimatum echoes a similar move by Sharma on March 22 last year when he garnered attention by forgoing clothes and shoes to protest the mismanagement in the Municipal Corporation. Demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the cause, he reiterated his willingness to make personal sacrifices for the greater good. The current crisis revolves around alarming sewer problems in the NIT Municipal Corporation, with broken manhole covers and rampant blockages creating a public health hazard. Neeraj Sharma affirmed his dedication to the struggle for NIT’s development, promising to persist until these critical issues are adequately addressed.
