Kolkata- In a historic spiritual gathering, more than 5 lakh devotees assembled at Kolkata’s Brigade Parade Ground on Sunday for “Panch Lakkho Konthe Gita Path”, a mass recitation of the Bhagavad Gita organised by the Sanatan Sanskriti Sansad.

Spiritual icons Dhirendra Shastri, Sadhvi Ritambhara, Kartik Maharaj, and Baba Ramdev led the collective chant, joined by West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose. BJP leaders, including Suvendu Adhikari, also marked their presence.

Speakers highlighted Bengal’s spiritual legacy, calling the Gita a unifying force that can heal social divides.
Meanwhile, TMC leaders questioned both the crowd size and the event’s intent, sparking a political back-and-forth.

Despite political tensions, the event transformed Kolkata’s iconic Brigade Parade Ground—often a battleground for political rallies—into a sea of devotion.
