Media Portfolio Exhibition-2025 Becomes a Confluence of Skill and Innovation

Faridabad, 20 November – The Department of Communication and Media Technology at J.C. Bose University (YMCA) successfully organized the grand ‘Media Portfolio Exhibition-2025’. The event showcased the creative and practical activities, documented in the form of audio and video, produced by final year undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Journalism and Mass Communication program during their studies. These projects highlighted the innovative spirit and technical proficiency of all the students.

The program, held in the Shakuntalam Auditorium, was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Akhilesh Sharma, Managing Editor of NDTV, and the Guest of Honour, Rajiv Jaitly, Media Advisor to the Haryana Chief Minister and National Media In-charge of the BJP, by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
In his address, Akhilesh Sharma, Managing Editor of NDTV, stated that journalism is a sacred profession where factual integrity cannot be compromised. While AI may feel like a revolution today, it will soon become just another ordinary tool. He emphasized the importance of continuous learning and advised students to regularly participate in workshops based on new technologies to keep themselves updated with time. He further appreciated the portfolio exhibition.

In his address, Rajiv Jaitly said that AI is a powerful tool that can ease our work, but it cannot be a substitute for human creativity and deep thinking. He concluded that this portfolio exhibition is evidence that students are ready to face the challenges of the industry not just theoretically, but practically.
University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajive Kumar, in his absence, conveyed a message via video, stating that the Media Portfolio Exhibition-2025 is an excellent festival dedicated to the work of the students, providing a crucial platform for their future endeavors in the media field. He extended his best wishes for everyone’s bright future and praised the Media Department.

Professor Pawan Singh, Head of the Media Department, informed that final year students from Media, Visual Communication, and Social Work displayed their creativity, skills, and diverse talents. He noted that this exhibition showcased the students’ excellent professional preparation, and the portfolios prepared by them are a strong testament to their ability to meet the current demands of the industry. Dean (Institute) Prof. Munish Vashishth, Dean Prof. Anuradha Sharma, and Prof. Atul Mishra appreciated and encouraged the students’ work. Representatives from major media organizations were also present at the event.
Over 2,000 students from various educational institutions, universities, colleges, and schools across Delhi NCR visited the exhibition. The event was a vibrant celebration of media arts, leaving the attendees amazed by the talent and creativity of the students.

The special attractions of the Media Portfolio Exhibition-2025 this year were the attractive ‘Rangoli’ by the department’s three clubs—’Sanchar’ Ready For Ever, Yuva For Seva, and Drishya Club—and special stalls showcasing the activities of these clubs. 150 participants from BAJMC, MAJMC, B.Sc. Visual Communication, BSW, and MSW displayed their creations and achievements through audio and video at their stalls.
Students honored in the Best Portfolio category include: Anshika Gupta (B.Sc. Visual Communication), Bhumi (BSW), Mansi (BAJMC), Yash Negi (BAJMC), Aastha (MAJMC), and Fiona (MSW).
