Rail Minister Vaishnaw, Japanese Minister Review Progress of Surat High-Speed Rail Project

Earlier, Minister Hiromasa Nakano was accorded a traditional Garba welcome upon his arrival at the Surat airport.

Surat, October 3 : Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Japan’s Minister for Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Hiromasa Nakano jointly visited the Surat High-Speed Rail (HSR) construction site on Thursday to review the progress of India’s first bullet train project.

According to the Railways Ministry, the two ministers inspected key components of the project, including the track slab laying car and the track slab adjustment facility. Both expressed satisfaction over the quality and pace of construction work, praising the ongoing efforts to accelerate project execution.

The visit highlights the strong partnership between India and Japan in advancing the country’s first high-speed rail corridor, a landmark infrastructure initiative under the Mumbai–Ahmedabad route.
