New Delhi – The National e-Governance Division (NeGD), under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), has crossed a major milestone by enabling Pan-India integration of close to 2,000 e-Government services. With this achievement, residents across the country can now avail citizen-centric services anytime, anywhere in digital form.
The services integrated span a wide range—ranging from certificates and welfare scheme benefits to utility payments and other essential facilities. This is being seen as a significant step forward in realizing the Digital India programme’s vision of paperless, mobile, and transparent governance, while also contributing to India’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
DigiLocker, one of the strongest pillars of India’s digital public infrastructure, has played a key role in making this possible. By overcoming challenges of interoperability and data security, the platform has empowered citizens with easy, secure, and inclusive access to trusted government services.
Among all States and UTs, Maharashtra leads with 254 services, followed by:
Delhi – 123
Karnataka – 113
Assam – 102
Uttar Pradesh – 86
Kerala and Jammu & Kashmir provide 77 services each, while Andhra Pradesh offers 76. Other major contributors include Gujarat (64), Tamil Nadu (63), Goa (63), Haryana (60), and Himachal Pradesh (58). In total, 1,938 services are now available digitally across the country.
NeGD has announced plans to expand this digital portfolio further by adopting emerging AI-driven technologies. Training programmes and State-level workshops will also be rolled out to strengthen awareness and ensure that citizens from all corners of India benefit equally from digital governance.
Established in 2009 as an Independent Business Division under the Digital India Corporation (a not-for-profit company under MeitY), NeGD has been instrumental in implementing e-Governance projects and supporting both Central and State governments. Over the years, it has developed and continues to manage several key digital public platforms including:
DigiLocker
UMANG
Entity Locker
API Setu
myScheme
OpenForge
India Stack Global
Meri Pehchaan
UX4G
Some highlights from the service count include:
Andaman & Nicobar – 48
Arunachal Pradesh – 20
Bihar – 30
Chandigarh – 42
Chhattisgarh – 40
Punjab – 33
Rajasthan – 44
West Bengal – 57
Ladakh – 8
Puducherry – 5 (lowest)
This achievement underscores the Government of India’s continuing commitment to harness technology for empowering citizens and transforming service delivery, aligned with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of a digitally enabled and inclusive nation.
