New Delhi– Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the floods in Punjab have left thousands of families homeless and displaced. In these difficult times, the Delhi Government is committed to sharing their pain and extending every possible assistance. She emphasised that the relief material is not just supplies, but represents the affection and support of the people of Delhi being sent to their brothers and sisters in Punjab.
She informed that the trucks carry food grains, drinking water, clothes, tarpaulins, medicines, sanitary kits, milk powder for children, and other essential daily-use items. The Delhi Government organised the collection and packing of relief materials on a war footing so that assistance could reach the affected areas at the earliest.
The Chief Minister further stated that, in addition to the relief material, the Delhi Government has contributed Rs 5 crore to the Punjab Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. She said that Delhi is ready to extend all possible support in accordance with the requirements of the Punjab Government. The Chief Minister personally spoke with her counterpart in Punjab and assured him that until the situation stabilises, Delhi will continue to stand hand in hand with its brothers and sisters in Punjab.

She remarked that Delhi and Punjab are not merely neighbouring states but are also deeply bound by emotional and cultural ties. The nation as a whole lives by the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam- the world is one family. At this time, when natural calamities have caused distress and hardship in the country and in Punjab, we must hold one another’s hands and stand united. From our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, we have learnt how to stand with any nation in the world when it faces adversity. The Chief Minister added that Punjab is a jewel of the nation, which has always extended support to both the country and the wider world.
The Chief Minister prayed that the Almighty may soon relieve the people of Punjab from this suffering and grant them the strength to return to normal life. She expressed confidence that, with the blessings of Mother India and the support of all, Punjab will soon overcome this disaster and once again move forward on the path of progress and prosperity.
