Delhi Police Pays Tribute to Martyrs at National Police Memorial

Delhi Police honoured fallen heroes at the National Police Memorial, Chanakyapuri, with tributes, film screenings, and a symbolic Run for Martyrs.

Delhi – In observance of All India Police Commemoration Day, Delhi Police, gathered at the National Police Memorial in Chanakyapuri to honour the sacrifice of its martyrs. A dedicated commemorative event was held to honour the police martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty. Satish Golchha, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, led senior officers in paying homage, by laying wreaths at the Central Sculpture of the National Police Memorial.

Every year on 21st  October, Police Commemoration Day is observed nationwide to honour the bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment of police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty. The main observance is held at the National Police Memorial and thereafter CAPFs/CPOs are entrusted one day each to organise commemorative events at National Police Memorial from October 22 to 30. Delhi Police was assigned to conduct the programme/events on 24.10.2025 at the memorial. A series of events are also being held from 22.10.2025 to 30.10.2025 in districts and units of Delhi Police.

The observance began, early in the morning with a symbolic ‘Run for Martyrs’ from Nehru Park to the National Police Memorial. Satish Golchha, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, led senior officers in the run, culminating in floral tributes at the Memorial. Later in the day the family members of the Delhi Police martyrs and serving personnel visited the memorial, offered tributes at the Central Sculpture. A video display showcasing the sacrifice, valour, and brave acts of police personnel was screened at the Memorial’s theatre for the families. They also visited the museum, and paid homage at the Wall of Valour, which bears names of police personnel who have laid down their lives in the line of duty.

In the evening, Satish Golchha, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, along with senior officers and their spouses, visited the National Police Memorial. The CP Delhi paid homage to martyrs by laying wreath at the memorial, followed by wreath laying by Senior Officers and floral tributes by spouses of the officers. This was followed by screening of a movie on valour and sacrifice of Delhi Police personnel and band display by Delhi Police Brass Band & Pipe Band in the honour of police martyrs.

The day concluded with beating the retreat ceremony and homage to Delhi Police Martyrs at the Wall of Valour by the Officers along with their spouses.
