Decades-Old Pay Grievance of Retired Doordarshan Cameramen Resolved Within Hours

After nearly three decades of waiting, two retired cameramen receive corrected pay fixation and pension arrears following swift intervention by Information & Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

New DELHI : Long time pending since decades, the Pay Grievance resolved in hours.

Two retired Doordarshan cameramen received long-awaited relief on December 24 when their pay fixation issue dating back to 1997 was finally resolved.

Devendra Sharma and M.K. Mahadev Rao met Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting  Ashwini Vaishnaw to highlight their pending case (for almost three decades), which had remained unresolved despite multiple representations.

Minister Vaishnaw directed officials to address the matter within next one hour. The corrected pay orders were issued immediately.

The case involved proper implementation of Rule-8 of CCS (Revised Pay) Rules 1997, which entitled both employees to an additional increment during the 6th Pay Commission transition.

The revised orders today grants them corrected pensions with arrears covering nearly two decades. Both retirees senior citizens expressed relief that their years-long follow-up efforts have now concluded with the issuance of proper orders.
