All India Forum of MSME and NID Haryana Sign Historic MoU to Strengthen Industry–Academia Partnership

First-of-its-kind agreement aims to connect MSME industries with design education; initiative to boost innovation, skill development, and employment opportunities across India

Faridabad: In a historic step towards strengthening collaboration between industry and academia, the All India Forum of MSME (AIFOM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Institute of Design (NID), Haryana, located in Kurukshetra. This marks the first such initiative in the history of India’s industrial organizations under the Industry–Academia Interface Program launched by AIFOM.

Under this agreement, MSME industries will be linked with NID Haryana to facilitate internships and employment opportunities for design students, while industries will gain access to skilled and creative talent. AIFOM members will periodically visit the institute to share their entrepreneurial journeys and provide insights into innovation and enterprise building.

Additionally, NID faculty will receive training in modern industrial technologies, enhancing their exposure to real-world applications. The MoU signing ceremony took place at the AIFOM corporate office auditorium in Faridabad, attended by dignitaries from both sides. Representing NID Haryana were Director Ramanik Kaur Majithia, Registrar Sandeep Bhatia, and Chief Faculty Member Trilok Chauhan.

Addressing the gathering as Chief Guest, Director Ramanik Kaur Majithia expressed gratitude to AIFOM’s national team and members, calling the agreement “a milestone for both institutions and a step forward in nation-building.” AIFOM National President Shyam Sunder Kapoor thanked NID Haryana’s leadership for their cooperation and vision.

National General Secretary Anil Kumar Chaudhary emphasized that such collaborations, long established in foreign countries, will significantly contribute to improving education quality, fostering innovation, and addressing unemployment in India.

Prominent AIFOM members present included D.K. Mishra, A.K. Sen, Ashok Sagar Bhagat, Naveen Bansal, Prabhakar Shukla, Veer Bhan Sharma, Sube Singh Jakhar, Vivek Agrawal, Anshuman Gupta, Praveen Grover, Rafi Ahmad Saifi, Sandeep Nagar, Sanjeev Puri, Jagdish Chander, Binod Kumar Bhuwalka, Harpal Singh, Pradeep Goswami, Prabhakar Mishra, Sarthak Chaudhary, Ashok Sharma, Rakesh Chandra, Adarsh Kapoor, Raghav Tandon, Shiv Ram Sharma, and Raj Srivastava. This collaboration is expected to open new avenues for industrial innovation, design excellence, and youth employment, setting a new benchmark for MSME–academic partnerships across the nation.
