Aurangabad | July 13, 2025 – A major boost is coming to Aurangabad’s industrial landscape as a 20,000 sq. ft. Skill Development Centre is set to be established at Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC) in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for this initiative is expected to be signed next week, according to Secretary of DPIIT, Amardeep Singh Bhatia, during his visit to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar on July 12, 2025.
The Secretary emphasized the importance of attracting Global Capability Centre (GCC) investments and setting up R&D centres to elevate the region’s industrial innovation ecosystem. His visit included multiple engagements with industry leaders, startup founders, and government officials.
At a high-level industry interaction held at AURIC Hall, key stakeholders including MASSIA, CMIA, CII, FICCI, and ASSOCHAM presented strategic recommendations aimed at strengthening the region’s industrial growth:
A key housing recommendation was the integration of PMAY 2.0 subsidies with state housing policies for inclusive residential development in the industrial zone.
Dr. P. Anbalagan, Secretary of the Industries Department, Government of Maharashtra, shared the state’s forward-looking industrial growth vision via initiatives like Maharashtra Industrial Township Limited (MITL) and Multi-Modal Logistics Parks (MMLP).
The Secretary also engaged with innovators at MAGIC (Marathwada Accelerator for Growth and Incubation Council), praising their entrepreneurial spirit and reaffirming central government support through Startup India, Fund of Funds, and sectoral incentive schemes.
