Hyderabad, June 1, 2025 – In a spectacular finale held in Hyderabad on Saturday night, Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri was crowned Miss World 2025, marking a historic first win for her country in the prestigious global beauty pageant.

Chuangsri stood out among 107 contestants from across the world, impressing the jury with her poise, elegance, and message of empowerment. She was crowned by outgoing Miss World Krystyna Pyszkova of the Czech Republic, who won the 2024 title in India as well. The runner-up title went to Hasset Dereje Admassu of Ethiopia.

Dressed in a striking white gown featuring delicate opal-inspired floral embellishments, Chuangsri’s ensemble was more than just fashion—it was a statement of resilience and healing, symbolizing both inner strength and beauty. The audience erupted in applause as she received the coveted crown, representing not only personal victory but a national milestone for Thailand on the international stage.

This win marks Thailand’s first-ever Miss World title, placing the Southeast Asian nation firmly on the global beauty map.

India’s representative this year, Nandini Gupta, did not advance to the Top 8. The nation, which has a proud legacy at Miss World with six previous titles, was hoping to follow in the footsteps of Sini Shetty, who reached the Top 8 in 2024.

Notably, India hosted the Miss World pageant for the second year in a row—the first time in 28 years that the country has held back-to-back events. The ceremony was a dazzling showcase of Indian culture, with prominent personalities from fashion, film, and international diplomacy in attendance.

Krystyna Pyszkova’s 2024 win came after she edged out strong contenders like Yasmina Zaytoun (Lebanon), Ache Abrahams (Trinidad and Tobago), and Lesego Chombo (Botswana).

India’s last Miss World title was won by Manushi Chhillar in 2017, adding to a legacy that includes icons like Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra.
