Mumbai witnessed a heartwarming moment on Sunday as actor Ranbir Kapoor and his mother, veteran actress Neetu Kapoor, came together to perform the Ganpati Visarjan rituals at a pandal. The duo joined devotees in chanting prayers, performing aarti, and bidding farewell to Lord Ganesha.
Ranbir, dressed in a simple blue kurta, stood beside his mother, who wore a white salwar suit, as they carried out the rituals. A video shared by a paparazzo account showed Neetu leading the aarti with priests, while Ranbir chanted prayers with the crowd.
In another clip, the actor was seen carrying the Ganesh idol in his arms, accompanied by chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya”. Neetu walked beside him, guiding devotees to make way during the immersion procession.
The videos quickly went viral, with fans flooding the comments section with praises and chants. Some also noted the absence of Ranbir’s wife, Alia Bhatt, who is currently busy shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film Love and War, co-starring Vicky Kaushal. The movie is scheduled for release on March 20, 2026.
Apart from Love and War, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in director Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious project Ramayana. The two-part mythological epic features Ranbir as Lord Ram, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Amitabh Bachchan as Jatayu, and Ravi Dubey as Laxman. With music by Hans Zimmer and A. R. Rahman, the film is slated for a Diwali 2026 release.
