May 28, 2025 : A recent interview clip of Bollywood star Deepika Padukone has gone viral on social media, where she speaks about listening to her inner voice during complex situations. The video has reignited conversation around her reported exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming film Spirit, a move that has been surrounded by controversy and speculation.
Deepika’s departure from the high-profile project, which stars Prabhas in the lead, sparked headlines last week. Several reports alleged that her “unprofessional” demands led to the fallout. However, Deepika seems to be steering clear of the noise and choosing poise over confrontation. At a recent red carpet event in Stockholm, where she appeared as Cartier’s brand ambassador, the actor shared her life philosophy in an interview with Vogue Arabia.
“I think what keeps me balanced is just being truthful, being authentic,” Deepika said. “And whenever I am faced with complicated or difficult situations, I listen to my inner voice and make decisions that bring me peace. That’s when I feel most aligned.”
Though she didn’t mention the Spirit controversy directly, fans were quick to connect the dots. “She’s addressing it without saying it,” one fan commented. Another wrote, “She always knows how to respond with grace.”
Speculation surrounding Deepika’s exit intensified after reports surfaced that Triptii Dimri had replaced her in the film. Rumors suggested Deepika had made rigid demands, including limiting her workday to six hours and requesting contract modifications related to extended shooting schedules.
A source quoted by Bollywood Hungama claimed, “Sandeep Reddy Vanga was shocked when Deepika’s team demanded she not work beyond six hours a day. They also wanted additional pay if the shoot exceeded 100 days.” These reported negotiations allegedly led to creative differences between the actor’s team and the filmmakers.
The situation escalated when Pinkvilla published a detailed report about the film’s plot and Triptii Dimri’s role. Vanga took to X (formerly Twitter) and hinted that the leak might have originated from Deepika’s end—without naming her. In a cryptic but scathing post, he wrote:
“When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There’s an unsaid NDA between us. But by doing this, you’ve disclosed the person you really are… Putting down a younger actor and trying to sabotage my story? Is this what your feminism stands for?”
The public exchange added fuel to the fire, with many calling it an unfortunate clash of egos and professionalism.
Spirit will mark the first collaboration between Prabhas and Triptii Dimri and her second project with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga after Animal. Backed by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures, the film is currently in pre-production and will feature Prabhas in the role of a dynamic police officer.
Despite the ongoing drama, Deepika’s calm and self-assured statements suggest she’s focused on personal peace over public battles—letting her actions, not headlines, speak.
