The Impressive TimesFaridabad, 07 December 2024– Manav Rachna International School (MRIS), Sector 21C Faridabad, hosted its Annual Sports Day, ‘गति – racing with time’, with great enthusiasm on December 7, 2024, at the Cricket Ground of Manav Rachna University campus, Faridabad. The event featured spirited participation from students of Toddlers to Grade II in various sports activities.
The opening ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp and chanting of the Gayatri Mantra, followed by an inspiring performance by the school band ‘Euphoric Symphony’ and a captivating dance routine. Ms. Anjum Chopra, Former Captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Dr. Amit Bhalla, Vice President, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI), Ms. Nisha Bhalla, Executive Director – MRIS, Sector 21C and Charmwood, Faridabad, Mr. Sarkar Talwar, Director Sports, MREI; and Ms. Sanyogita Sharma, Director MRIS, motivated the students with their presence.
The event featured a vibrant March Past, where the School Sports Captain handed the beacon to the Chief Guest to declare the sports day open. Dr. Amit Bhalla highlighted the role of sports in shaping character, stating, “Sports teach resilience, teamwork, and discipline—values essential for life’s journey.”
Ms. Nisha Bhalla added, “Events like these are a reflection of our commitment to fostering physical and mental growth in children, helping them become confident, well-rounded individuals.”
Principal Mrs. Seema Anis welcomed the audience and shared the school’s vision of holistic education, saying, “Sports are an integral part of a child’s growth, fostering discipline and teamwork. Our students continue to shine on and off the field, making us proud.”
The day was filled with exciting drills and innovative races, such as Numbers Quest, Tower of Triumph, and Seedling Sprint, integrating academic concepts with physical activity. Parents enthusiastically joined their toddlers and nursery children in Zumba Duos, adding to the event’s charm.
Students showcased coordination and skill through drills, Taekwondo, and Yoga presentations. The grand finale—a Soccer Match between moms and dads—brought cheers and laughter, creating cherished memories.
The event concluded with prize distribution by the Principal, Chief Guest, and dignitaries, celebrating the students’ achievements.
