New Delhi – November 18, 2023- The second two-plus-two ministerial dialogue between the Defence and Foreign Ministers of India and Australia is scheduled to take place in Delhi on Monday. Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles, along with Foreign Minister Penny Wong, will arrive in India on Sunday for the two-day visit focused on the dialogue.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will co-chair the talks with their Australian counterparts. Prior to the two-plus-two discussions, the ministers from both countries will engage in a bilateral meeting.
The first two-plus-two ministerial dialogue between India and Australia occurred in September 2021. The upcoming dialogue is expected to further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations, particularly in the realm of defence cooperation.
A wide range of mutual interests will be on the agenda during the two-plus-two dialogue and the bilateral meeting. Additionally, Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles is set to visit Ahmedabad in Gujarat on Sunday to witness the World Cup final between India and Australia.
