Piyush Goyal Says Uttar Pradesh Can Raise Exports to ₹5 Lakh Crore by 2030

Greater Noida- Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said Uttar Pradesh is entering a phase of expanding global trade and investment, with the state aiming to increase its annual exports from around ₹2 lakh crore to ₹5 lakh crore by 2030.

Addressing the UP International Trade Show in Greater Noida, Goyal said the growing network of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) being pursued by India would provide businesses in Uttar Pradesh with wider access to overseas markets.

He said stronger exports, higher investment and greater international market connectivity could play an important role in the state’s ambition to build a $1 trillion economy.

The minister said Uttar Pradesh’s entrepreneurs and manufacturers stand to benefit as Indian products gain improved access to international markets through trade agreements.

He encouraged businesses in the state to use these opportunities to expand their international presence and develop products and brands capable of competing globally.

Goyal also said India is attracting interest from international investors across multiple sectors, with Uttar Pradesh emerging as an important destination because of its industrial policies and investment-focused initiatives.

Highlighting the state’s changing industrial landscape, Goyal pointed to the development of expressways, airports and industrial parks as key factors supporting economic activity.

He said Uttar Pradesh is also expanding its footprint in emerging industries, including defence, semiconductors, electronics and other high-technology sectors.

The minister cited the growth of robotics manufacturing in Greater Noida as an example of the state’s increasing focus on advanced technology and modern manufacturing.

Goyal highlighted the international character of the UP International Trade Show, which has brought together representatives from six partner countries, along with international delegates, exhibitors and buyers.

The buyer-seller interactions at the event, he said, can help businesses establish new commercial connections and take products and services from Uttar Pradesh to overseas markets.

He also emphasised the potential of the state’s traditional products, handicrafts, food and services to find wider international audiences.

According to Goyal, the next phase of Uttar Pradesh’s economic expansion will depend on increasing exports, attracting overseas investment and strengthening the state’s tourism sector.

He said building internationally recognised brands from Uttar Pradesh would also be important in establishing a stronger global identity for the state’s products and businesses.

With annual exports currently estimated at around ₹2 lakh crore, the state has set an ambitious goal of reaching ₹5 lakh crore by 2030.

The minister called for greater involvement from entrepreneurs, exporters, industrial groups and other stakeholders to achieve the target.

He further stressed the need for close cooperation between the Central and Uttar Pradesh governments, along with participation from young people, citizens and the wider business community, to sustain the state’s economic and export momentum.
