Delhi Police Launches Mega Tree Plantation Drive on World Environment Day

Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golchha Leads Citywide Plantation Campaign to Promote Environmental Conservation

New Delhi, June 5: Delhi Police marked World Environment Day with a massive tree plantation campaign across all its districts and units, reinforcing its commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development.

The citywide plantation drive was led by Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golchha, who planted a sapling at the Delhi Police Headquarters. Senior officers from various wings of Delhi Police joined the initiative and participated in the plantation programme aimed at promoting a greener and healthier environment.

Among those who took part were Special Commissioners Rajesh Khurana, Garima Bhatnagar, David Lalrinsanga and Devesh Chandra Srivastva, along with OSD to the Commissioner of Police Sanjay Kumar Jain. Several other senior officers and police personnel also participated in the event.

The plantation campaign was conducted simultaneously across all districts and specialised units of Delhi Police. Officers and staff planted saplings at police establishments and public locations, while also encouraging citizens to contribute towards environmental protection.

Officials said the initiative was aimed at increasing green cover, raising awareness about climate change and promoting collective responsibility towards preserving the environment. Police personnel actively engaged with local communities to spread the message of sustainable living and ecological conservation.

The World Environment Day activities witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers and staff across Delhi, reflecting the force’s commitment to supporting environmental causes alongside its law enforcement responsibilities.
