Rome, May 20, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Italy on Tuesday as part of the final leg of his multi-nation Europe tour. During his stay in Rome, he is scheduled to hold high-level discussions with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Italian President Sergio Mattarella to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.

The Indian Prime Minister reached Rome after concluding his visit to Norway. On arrival, he was welcomed by Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.

The upcoming meetings are expected to focus on expanding cooperation between India and Italy in key sectors including trade, technology, investment, defence, and strategic partnerships. The visit also highlights the growing diplomatic engagement between the two nations amid evolving global political and economic developments.

Mr. Modi’s Italy visit marks the concluding phase of his European outreach tour, which included engagements with several Nordic nations aimed at enhancing India’s international partnerships and economic collaboration.
